JHS Friday Night Lights Caring for Community

In early fall 2023, Jesuit High School Sacramento hosted two Friday Night Lights football games under temporary portable lighting. These games allowed the school to put into practice the Night Event Operations Plan, engage with the community, host games early in the season at home out of the heat, and bring alumni, families, and fans together in a classic family-friendly school-spirited atmosphere.

Jesuit Robotics Team interviewed by competition sponsor

The MATE ROV Competition is an underwater robotics (aka remotely operated vehicle or ROV) challenge that engages a global community of learners each year. This year, the competition is challenging students to tackle problems that impact the entire world: plastics clogging our rivers, lakes, waterways, and ocean from the surface to the bottom of the Mariana Trench; climate change raising ocean temperatures, affecting the health of coral reefs; and contaminants in our waterways.

2 out of 3 students play on a team...here are a few competing in fall at the college level

College Celebration Day on May 3, 2022

These Marauders joined an elite pool of high school athletes who signed their letters on the same day at ceremonies across the country. On average, only about 4% of high school students will go on to play a college sport annually. “Ultimately, the development of each student’s character is at the heart of what we do at Jesuit, and participation in athletics is a powerful instrument for this goal. As these student-athletes now continue their sport at the collegiate level, they are prepared not only to thrive but to excel—on the field, in their classes and as Men for Others,” said Athletic Director Hank Weinberger.
