On September 26, 2018, the Counseling Department will provide a general information session about our services, scheduling placement/procedures, college advising, and recommendations on how to improve your student’s study habits. This event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Harris Center.
This is a night opened to all parents who are sending their son to college! Please join us for our “Paying for College Workshop” October 9, 2018, 6:30 pm in the Harris Center. This workshop is an overview of the importance of understanding the financial aid process early, applications and timelines. We will discuss filling out the FAFSA, the pros and cons of applying early for Financial Aid, the major types of aid, Cal Grant, WUE & Merit scholarships, and we will compare costs and financial aid packages at a variety of schools.
We are fortunate to host visits from college admission representatives on our campus. Typically more than 50 different colleges and universities visit Jesuit High School each year. Often the admission representative visiting our campus is the same person who will be reviewing the students’ applications and recommending them for admission to the college or university.
Rep visits are a great opportunity for students to learn more about the programs and opportunities available at different schools as well as make a connection with the admission representative.
All JHS students are welcome to attend rep visits.
Students are encouraged to sign up in advance using Naviance Family Connection. This will generate a reminder note on the day of the visit.
Students may attend even if they did not sign up in advance.
All visits occur during lunch break in the Senior Quad. Students are welcome to eat lunch during the presentation.
Students and parents are able to view the full Admission Rep visit schedule in Naviance.
Students, join us for the Annual Pancake Breakfast!
The Annual Pancake Breakfast is a tradition here at Jesuit High School. The Counseling Department hosts a free pancake breakfast for all students on the morning of English finals, which this year is Wednesday, December 18. Join us in the Harris Center from 7:00-8:00 a.m. for hot pancakes and hot chocolate served by your counselors, teachers, and administrators.
Junior parents are highly encouraged to attend this informational evening to learn more about the college application process. Come and listen to admission reps from the UC’s and a Private College talk about the application process for these different schools. Also, Jesuit Counselors will give an overview of the Jesuit College Advising Services. This will be a good opportunity to hear what’s in store and to ask questions about the process.
