Jackson third baseman Vincent Catricala (Jesuit) is second in hits (162) and tied for fifth in batting (.353) among all minor league players through Thursday. The 22-year-old began the season with Advanced-A High Desert and batted .351 in 71 games, prompting a promotion to the Double-A Southern League, where the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder is hitting .356 in 45 games.
