OUR MISSION & PROFILE: Jesuit High School – Sacramento, a Jesuit Catholic four-year college preparatory school with an enrollment of approximately 1050 male students, is dedicated to forming competent young men into conscientious leaders in compassionate service to others for the greater glory of God. Founded in 1963, the school’s campus straddles the dividing line between the county of Sacramento and the suburban district known as Carmichael. Jesuit serves the young men of the greater Sacramento area, attracting students from more than 70 local elementary and junior high schools, from every ethnic and socio-economic background, encompassing a broad spectrum of academic achievement. Traditionally, 98-100% of our graduates go immediately to college (84% to four-year institutions and approximately 40% to private colleges and universities).
ACCREDITATION: Jesuit High School of Sacramento is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). Jesuit’s current term of WASC accreditation is valid through 2020. Jesuit is a member of the College Board, the Jesuit Secondary Education Association (60 high schools in the United States) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling. We are sponsored by the Jesuits West Province.
POSITION: Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President is the chief executive and administrative officer of the school. While delegating many of the responsibilities for the academic program and student formation to the Principal, the President is responsible for the overall management, control and direction of the school. The President serves as the primary representative of the school to alumni, donors and external civic, religious and academic organizations. The Board recognizes that the path to the President’s office can come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds, and welcomes applicants who feel they have the skills and strengths needed for success in fulfilling our mission. QUALITIES REQUIRED: The ideal candidate will encompass the following:
Active Roman Catholic committed to Jesuit Identity and Mission
Effective leader and communicator, with excellent administrative skills
Strong fundraising ability and aptitude
Available to travel and attend evening and weekend functions
Masters degree or higher in relevant field
