The President’s Council exists to advise and assist the President
in the formulation of policy decisions affecting Jesuit High
School. Members of the President’s Council consist of the
President and the direct reports of the President.
Fr. Suwalsky, S.J. grew up in Leavenworth, Kansas and entered the
Society of Jesus in 1983. He was ordained in 1995. His academic
background includes degrees from Rockhurst University, Saint
Louis University, the Weston School of Theology, and Harvard
University. He was awarded a Ph.D. in American Studies from Saint
Louis University in 2010. Prior to his coming to Jesuit High
School, he was the treasurer of the Jesuits of the Missouri
Province. He has been a teacher and administrator at St. Louis
University High School, Rockhurst High School and Saint Louis
University and has been active in parish and retreat ministry.
As Principal, Brianna Latko is the Chief Academic Officer of
Jesuit High School. Ms. Latko came to Jesuit after
spending 11 years at Saint Ignatius College Prep in Chicago,
Illinois, where she coached swimming, taught English, worked in
Student Activities and Admissions, and served as Assistant
Principal for both Student Services and Academics.
Ms. Latko currently serves on the Board of Directors for Y.M.C.A.
Camp MacLean in Burlington, Wisconsin. She holds a Master
of Education Degree from Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor
of Arts from the University of Iowa.
Jordan Blair oversees all communications, public relations, and marketing for Jesuit High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary, a Master of Arts with honors from Sacramento State, a Master of Public Administration with honors from the University of Southern California, and is a doctoral candidate in the communication of policy from USC. Mr. Blair has developed a reputation as a skilled communicator having previously managed media relations, external relations, publications, and website communications for a variety of large state agencies, nonprofits, and educational institutions.
Interested in giving back to the community, Mr. Blair currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors for River City Food Bank and sits on the Boards of Fairytale Town, the USC Alumni Association – Sacramento Chapter, and the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity – Gamma Iota Colony.
Fr. Michael Gilson, S.J. entered the Society of Jesus in 1991
following two years of service in the Jesuit International
Volunteers in Belize, Central America. He was ordained a
priest in 2002. Fr. Gilson has taught and served on the
Boards of Trustees at Saint Ignatius College Preparatory in San
Francisco and Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix. He
currently serves as the local superior of the Sacramento Jesuit
Community and teaches in the theology department.
Maureen Longyear is the Director of Development of Jesuit High
School. She is responsible for designing, directing and
evaluating all fundraising efforts for the school. As
Director, Maureen manages the Office of Development that is
responsible for developing and executing advancement strategies
to address the annual operations, long-term capital and endowment
needs, and which coordinates or produces all fundraising events.
Mrs. Longyear is a native of Sacramento where she attended
Loretto High School before attending Santa Clara
University. Maureen transferred to the University of
California, Berkeley and was awarded her Bachelor of Science in
marketing from the Haas School of Business. After pursuing
a successful career in media sales, Mrs. Longyear “retired” to
raise three children, John ’99, Michael ’01 and Kate (Loretto
High ’06). In 2003 and 2004 Mrs. Longyear co-chaired the
Jesuit Auction as a volunteer and accepted a position in
Development. In 2006 she was named Director.
