Since 1948, Bishop Manogue Catholic High school has been
offering
the young people of Northern Nevada a faith-based college
prep education within a close-knit and caring
community. With test scores that exceed state
Bishop O’Dowd High School is named in memory of the
former Superintendent of Schools of the Archdiocese of
San Francisco, Bishop James T. O’Dowd, who died as a
result of a tragic car accident at the age of 43. At
the time of his sudden death, Bishop O’Dowd, having just
helped to establish Marin Catholic and Riordan
high schools, was in the process of drawing up plans
for a new Catholic high school in the East Bay.
Eisenhower High School is located in Rialto, California,
which lies north of Interstate 10, between the cities
of San Bernardino and Fontana. It is one of three
comprehensive high schools in the Rialto Unified School
District and serves a student population of
approximately 2,200 in grades 9-12. Established in
1959, Eisenhower has served more than four generations of
the community’s members and prides itself on its
outstanding programs.
Jesuit High School of Sacramento is a Roman Catholic college
preparatory dedicated to forming competent, young men
as conscientious leaders in compassionate service to others
for the greater glory of God. The school’s purpose is
to lovingly serve the young men of the wider Sacramento
area, from every ethnic and socio-economic background
and a broad spectrum of academic achievement.
Oakland Tech has a long history of offering innovative,
rigorous and supportive programs and continues to work
on improving its programs. We recently updated our
six-year plan for the school and we are renewing our
six-year accreditation this year with the Western
Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Oakland Tech was declared an historic landmark on July 23,
1985.
St. Ignatius was founded in 1855 by Fr. Anthony Maraschi of
the Society of Jesus. The original school served
students ranging from age 8 to 20 and later split into
the University of San Francisco and St. Ignatius High School
in the 1900s. When SI moved to its sixth site in
the Sunset District in 1969, it changed its name to St.
Ignatius College Preparatory; it became a coeducational
school in 1989.
Sheldon High School was the Elk Grove Unified School
District’s 5th high school and the 3rd high school
built in less than ten years. The name is from the town of
Sheldon on Grant Line Road, a place that had been
active in the Cosumnes River gold activity of the 1850s.
Sheldon is where the wagons were made.
Strake Jesuit is a Catholic, four-year college preparatory
school for young men grades 9-12. The school was
founded in 1960 by the New Orleans Province of the
Society of Jesus, a religious order of priests and brothers
also known as the Jesuits. The Jesuits bring over four
and half centuries of tradition and commitment to
academic excellence.
