In Jesuit’s first home varsity soccer game of the season, the team took on Cordova High School. The home team started delivering results early with a 3rd minute goal by Elijah Beverley where a multi-man attack exposed the goalkeeper and Beverley put in a solid, tap-in. A similar play developed in the 15th minute when Zach Lozano, easily finished an attack. Nine minutes later Luke Bone had some beautiful individual skills through four defenders, and got free to slide one past the keeper. Cole Barrett, added a goal as he slid a solid ball from the left edge of the box to Chris Meyers, who was a little farther to the right, and Meyers took it quickly as it came to him, hitting an unexpected floating shot high into the right corner of the goal. In the 35th minute Brian Norris flicked a nice little bouncer to Matthew Kahn, who clinically finished it.

Half Jesuit 5-0 Cordova

In the second half the scoring continued with a great early attack where Gustavo Levenfeld had a good shot at goal that was blocked by a defender and came to Jake L’Ecuyer who put it in. Four minutes later Gus took on the defense by himself and rung a strong shot in. The game ended 7-0, continuing a good start to the season. The team has some great games coming up next week, in Christian Brothers on Tuesday, December 4  and Rio on Friday, December 7.
