No, the parent volunteer (VIP) hours are separate from your son’s service hours requirement through the Office of Service & Justice. All information about Service and Justice can be accessed through the student's Google Classroom page.

Families can use Helper Helper, our online volunteer portal, to view opportunities, sign up, and track hours.
- 25 volunteer hours are required per family each year
- Volunteer hours are tracked from May 1 through April 30
- A fee will be assessed for non-completion of required family volunteer hours

If your email address is new to the system, please go to app.helperhelper.com and click "Need a Password for the First Time?". The system will walk you through the process to log in and reset a new password associated with your new account.
All hours must be tracked in Helper Helper in order to count toward your VIP hours requirement. On May 1, the VIP office will run a report for all volunteer hours completed PER FAMILY. Your hours will be added up PER FAMILY (not per account). For example, if you completed 12 hours and your spouse/partner completed 13 hours, these hours will show up together on our report as a total of 25. Thus, your requirement will be considered fulfilled. No further action is required (i.e. you do not need to submit a form or a notice of final completion)
The volunteer commitment for the 2025-2026 school year is 25 hours per family in support of a Jesuit-related event.
Many opportunities are available throughout the year for families to volunteer for Jesuit-related events such as: fundraising, athletics, Loyola Guild, Boosters, as well as many school organizations & clubs.
These volunteer hours may be completed by parents or guardians, current students and/or family members over the age of 18. Current students may earn up to 10 of the required 25 hours on behalf of the family.
Hours may be earned beginning May 1, 2025 and must be completed by April 30, 2026. All volunteer hours must be logged into your Helper Helper account prior to the deadline to avoid a fee.
Families who do not complete their school year volunteer hours will pay a $$950 non-participation fee. This amount is not prorated for partial hours.
- Due to liability concerns, hours may not be earned by driving students to activities; for additional details about the Jesuit High School Transportation Policy, please refer to the Student-Parent Handbook.
- Donations of cash or gift-in-kind items to the school or to school events do not earn volunteer hours.
- Extra hours earned in one year are not carried over to the following year.
- Additional hours completed may not be given or donated to another family.
Volunteer organizations are a great way to get involved.
Volunteering is essential to the success of Jesuit High School and strengthens our community. All families are expected to support school events and activities throughout the year, including fundraising, athletics, Loyola Guild, Booster programs, and more. The JHS Booster Club is a non-profit organization founded in 2000 as a way for parents, grandparents, alumni, and friends of Jesuit High School to support the school’s athletic programs, clubs, and other student activities. Our annual fundraising events include:

- Vehicle Donation Program
We are here to support the athletes, coaches, clubs, activity coordinators, students, and the entire JHS community to ensure they have the support they need to perform at their best and continue the tradition of school spirit that makes Jesuit so special.
Loyola Guild
“Mothers for Others”
Established in 1955, the Loyola Guild is a non-profit corporation of Jesuit parents and friends which fosters the educational and social needs of the high school community. The Guild sponsors annual events with profits going towards Jesuit’s scholarship endowment. Volunteer opportunities are plentiful – this is a great way for parents to get involved, make lifelong friends and stay connected even after graduation!
Christmas Tree Lane (CTL)
Loyola Guild’s largest fundraising event.

Loyola Guild’s Christmas Tree Lane (CTL) is Jesuit High School Sacramento’s longstanding signature holiday fundraiser and one of our community’s most beloved traditions. Dating back to Jesuit’s earliest days, CTL brings together families, friends, alumni, and the greater Sacramento community in celebration and support of tuition assistance at Jesuit High School.

Today, CTL is a large, multi-part holiday event produced by Loyola Guild volunteers and includes:
- The Lane — Holiday boutique shopping featuring local and regional vendors, Jesuit merchandise, gifts, food and seasonal items. (Shopping open to public. No ticket required.)
- The Show — A professionally produced Christmas production featuring Jesuit and St. Francis seniors performing festive holiday choreographed routines.
- Senior Celebrations — A celebration honoring our soon-to-be graduates and their parent(s)
- Sponsorships, advertising, raffles and other fundraising that contribute to the overall proceeds.
CTL Signature Events!
- Saturday Lunch — A festive afternoon featuring lunch, The Show, and fundraising activities. Ticket required.
- Saturday Cocktail Party — An adults-only evening featuring signature cocktails, seasonal hors d'oeuvres, and exclusive holiday shopping. Ticket required. (The Show is not included in this event.)
- Sunday Madonna Brunch — A beloved CTL tradition featuring brunch, holiday shopping, and The Show, including our special Senior Celebration honoring Jesuit senior participants and their parent(s). Ticket required.

What is Helper Helper?
Helper Helper is our online portal for all Family volunteer hours. On the site, you have access to sign up for volunteer opportunities across all groups on campus. You will also be able to track your volunteer hours online. At the end of the volunteer timeframe, we pull the hours report directly from Helper Helper. Therefore, ALL hours must be tracked and/or logged on your account in order to avoid a non-completion fee.
Helper Helper FAQs
- Download the app or log on to app.helperhelper.com from a desktop.
- Click “Need a Password for the First Time?”
- Enter your primary email address you provided to Jesuit.
- Click “Send Password”
- Follow the prompts on the log-in email
- Once on the site or app, click “Find Opportunities” to see all volunteering opportunities available.
- Simply click the opportunity you’re interested in, select the shift you can work, and click “Sign Up.”
- A reminder email will be sent to you two days and again two hours prior to your shift with details pertinent details.
- You also have the option to add this commitment to your Calendar. **This is highly recommended so you never miss a shift again!
- When you arrive for your shift, check in with the person you were instructed to report to on-site.
- He/she will provide you with a Validation Key Code to validate your hours.
- Go to your account, and click “Add Past Commitment”. (Click on the three bars in the upper left-hand corner, “Add a Past Commitment” is then the 6th option down on your screen)
- Fill out the necessary information on your duties, time volunteered and the “report to” person who can validate your time.
- Once the hours are validated by your volunteer leader, your account will be credited the hours.

- If you use HelperHelper at another site (such as an elementary school), your new opportunities will load into your existing portal — if you use the same email for both.
