Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola
Our patron saint

Event

On this feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Founder of the Jesuit Order (Society of Jesus) and architect of the 500-year-old system of Jesuit education,  we honor the original commitment of St. Ignatius and his faith-filled vision and philosophy of education grounded in following the example of Jesus Christ.

All Jesuit schools are committed to the education and formation of the whole person—mind, body, soul, and spirit.  Jesuit Sacramento is blessed with a community of parents, students, faculty, staff, and alumni whose generosity and trust in one another allows us to advance our ambitious mission of providing a one-of-a-kind life building experience in helping our students and graduates make a positive difference in the world. The motto of the Jesuits, from St. Ignatius, is Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (AMDG), a Latin phrase meaning For the Greater Glory of God.  May this motto continue to guide all of us to live with a spirit of gratitude, generosity, commitment to the common good of all women and men in the world.  Be assured that all members of the three Jesuit ministries in the Sacramento Region— Jesuit High School, Cristo Rey High School, St. Ignatius Loyola Parish and School— will be remembered in the Mass and prayers of the Sacramento Jesuit Community today.

St. Ignatius of Loyola, pray for us!
