Jon Rotz ’92
Assistant Director of Admissions / Safe Return Task Force Co-Chair / Associate Athletic Director, Student Athlete and Coach Development
Jon has been employed full time at Jesuit for five years and coaching at Jesuit for 16 years. He currently serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions and values the opportunity to assist the Director of Admissions, Matthew Ramos ‘05, in showing prospective students firsthand the “brotherhood” that exists at Jesuit High School.
As the Safe Return Task Force chair he is asked with the purpose of guiding the group and collaborating to strategically reopen the school and its many programs in a safe, coordinated, and informed way. As Chair, Jon will lead the task force and serve as a liaison to school administration, department representatives, students, parents, faculty, staff, and the larger Jesuit community.
Jon has committed a large portion of his life to the Jesuit basketball program. As a player, Coach Rotz played point guard all four years while attending Jesuit High School. Jon was a member of three Section Finalist teams in 1990, 1991, 1992. Winning Section titles in 1991 and 1992. His teams also advanced to the Nor-Cal Finals in 1991 & 1992. Jesuit Hall of inductees and Sacramento Bee Players of the year JJ Polk and Isaac Fontaine were teammates with Rotz in the early 90’s along with legends Josh King and Chris Griffin. Rotz was coached by another Jesuit Hall of Fame inductee, Hank Meyer.
In Jon’s 16 years of coaching at Jesuit High School he has served as Frosh Head Coach 1996-2001, Varsity Assistant 2001-2009 / 2012-2015, and as Head Coach for the 2015-to present. Coach Rotz has helped coach teams to three section titles and four section final appearances (Section Finalist 2003; Section Title Winner 2006, 2007, 2014).
He lives in Roseville, is married to Jennifer, and has a 18 year-old step-daughter Katelyn.
