During a welcome break in the rain, the JV Red visited Sheldon High School on Wednesday. The last time these two teams played was before Christmas, and the Marauders were hoping for another victorious outing. Jesuit came out strong, and only two minutes into the game Ryan Young sent a through ball straight up the middle, and Sam Berry put it away after a footrace. Play evened out for the half, although Sheldon wasn’t able to mount much offense. In the 34th minute, a shot by Alexander Maguire was redirected in by a defender. A few moments later, Sheldon took advantage of a keeper off the line and had a bomb from way outside, converting on their only real shot all half. The Huskies came out in the second half aggressive and pressuring, but Jesuit stayed strong. With 27 minutes to go, Joey Afsari dribbled the ball down and pulled it back, passing to the top of the box where Sam Nuno was waiting. Nuno switched it to his left foot and had a nice first goal of the season. That was all the Marauders needed, and the score against Sheldon was a repeat 3-1.
