Antigen Screening

What Jesuit will be using for COVID screening

  • Checks for active virus so we can catch asymptomatic students/staff
  • Quick, shallow swab. “Picking your nose”
  • Done onsite
  • Results not counted by County Health towards our “positive” cases

PCR

Used to confirm a positive screening result

  • The gold standard, highly sensitive
  • Deeper sampling aka “Brain Swab”
  • Done offsite in a Urgent Care lab or another medical facility
  • Results count by County Health towards our “positive” cases

Antibody Test

  • Used to see if you had the virus and have antibodies/immunity
  • “Finger prick” blood test
  • Not confirmed based on virus behavior that this is an effective way to track immunity
