Class of 2024 COVID Update
Director of Admissions on updates to challenge testing, welcome and registration

Friday, March 20, 2020

To our Future Marauder Families,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all as we navigate these unprecedented times. Though you are not already at Jesuit High School Sacramento, you are part of our family and we are here to support you. Just as we are keeping in touch with our current students, we want to make sure we keep you informed as well.

To say this year’s enrollment process will be unique would be quite the understatement! We are working hard (remotely) to make decisions and communicate with our families in a timely and consistent fashion, with health and safety being the top priority. I am writing to you this afternoon to provide enrollment details and contact information as we move forward. Please do not hesitate to reach out via email should you have any questions. We are here and happy to help!

Adhering to the local and state guidelines put into place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Jesuit Sacramento’s campus is currently closed to our students. We are keeping our community informed regularly and have provided trusted resources for your Health and Safety that you may find valuable.

For our current students, we have implemented online classes through our “Digital Learning Days” (DLD) program that provides an uninterrupted learning experience for our current students. The DLD program has provided students and teachers access to a consistent learning environment and parents can be assured of the continuity of their sons’ Jesuit education. If you are curious as to how Jesuit is able to transition efficiently to remote learning, you can view the DLD Protocol and Best Practices Documents. We are blessed and grateful to have talented faculty, supportive families, and the technological infrastructure to make this possible.

To help as you complete registration and get closer to the start of the school year, please refer to the Class of 2024 webpage as your primary source of information. Additionally, we will keep in touch by email and have included a few important updates below:

Challenge Testing

With campus currently closed, challenge testing will not take place on campus for March 28 and April 4. Academic departments and school administration are currently exploring options for either postponing the tests and/or developing electronic versions of these tests that can be taken at home. If your son plans to take an advanced class that requires a challenge test, it is critical that you sign up for the appropriate test when completing the online registration process. This will ensure that you are included in future communications regarding the scheduling and administration of our challenge tests. If you have further questions please contact Ian Farr, assistant principal of academics.

Music Auditions

We will provide more information from our Visual and Performing Arts department as soon as possible.

Class of 2024 Family Welcome

Unfortunately, this special evening scheduled for Thursday, April 30, has been postponed. We will attempt to have this event in the summer in conjunction with our Jesuit Boot Camp meetings. We will send out more information about the Class of 2024 Family Welcome event and Jesuit Boot Camp meetings in the coming weeks.

Registration

We want to work with all of our families in these uncertain times. Please direct any questions or concerns regarding enrollment in TADS, tuition, or fees to Jessica Billigmeier in our Business Office, and she will be able to help.

In addition to TADS, please be sure to complete your Final Forms registration as well. All questions regarding Final Forms should be directed to Meghan Blees.

The registration deadline is Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

News and updates

Lastly, be safe out there. Our top priority at this time is the health and safety of everyone in our Jesuit community. If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to reach out to the admissions team. Jon RotzDebbie Case and I will be consistently monitoring our emails to answer any questions and to provide guidance during this time. We will do our best to respond to your correspondence as soon as absolutely possible. And remember, we will provide updates via email as things unfold, on our website, JesuitHighSchool.org, and our social media channels.

God Bless,

Matthew  Ramos ’05
