Volunteer for Campus Supervision!
A New Parent Volunteer Opportunity
Jesuit would like to invite parents to complete most or all of their parent volunteer hours by volunteering for one day a week for campus supervision. Specifically, we are looking for supervision coverage from 7:30-8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday in the Harris Center. It is critical that we provide adequate supervision of students throughout the school day. Members of the school administration have been covering these shifts since the start of the school year in addition to our other supervision responsibilities. While we certainly enjoy spending time with students in the morning, we wanted to invite parents, after being properly trained and vetted, to serve in this role. This is a new practice for Jesuit, but we are excited at the opportunity for the collaboration.
We are looking to have two parents to volunteer one morning per week. Duties will include monitoring student behavior, reporting issues to the Dean’s Office when necessary, executing safety procedures if needed, and helping to encourage students to pick-up trash on and around the tables. As you already know, your sons are incredibly polite and cooperative, but having an adult presence promotes safety and security. Volunteers will be required to go through our full onboarding procedures (fingerprint background check and drug testing) and will be trained by the Dean’s Office prior to starting volunteer work.
If this is something you are interested in, please use this link to show your interest. Please note that we are looking for parents who can commit to regular coverage each week so that we have continuity and consistency in the supervision. For some families, this may be an excellent way to complete your volunteer hours and it will certainly support the work of Jesuit.
All responses are due no later than Friday, September 20.
