Jesuit High School, Sacramento is currently accepting applications for a part-time Athletic Trainer & Sports Medicine Instructor, for an 8 to 12-week assignment, beginning August 2024

Job Summary/Responsibilities

Educator 

Plan and implement an instruction of educational coursework and skills-based learning to students who may be interested in pursuing careers in Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, and other Kinesiology related Fields. 

Athletic Training 

Provides athletic training services to student athletes engaged in various school sports. The athletic trainer organizes, evaluates, educates, documents, and participates in program care, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention of physical injuries. The athletic trainer also coordinates care (and referrals) of athletic injuries and communicates with coaches, athletes and their parents.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Human Biology, Health Sciences or Biomechanics preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in health education, physical education, sports medicine, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum two years training experience in a highly competitive, high school, college preparatory or university environment.
  •  Licenses/Certifications/Registrations
  • A valid Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) by the Board of Certification (BOC) of the National Athletic Trainers Association must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • A valid American Red Cross or American Heart Association certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillators for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent.
  • A valid American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid certificate or equivalent. **A valid Class “C” California driver’s license. Travel to locations may be required

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations

  • A valid Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) by the Board of Certification (BOC) must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related subject matter
  • A practicing Catholic with an understanding of the core teachers of the Catholic faith
  • Passion for and experience in teaching and supporting a diverse population of high school students, including those with learning differences, in a college-prep environment
  • Well-versed in up-to-date teaching and assessment methods
  • Proficiency with productivity and educational technologies

General Information

  • Salary Range: For the current academic year, the JHS Faculty Salary Schedule ranges from $47,962 – $93,524, based on education and experience
  • This position is classified as a full-time Exempt position
  • Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, retirement matching, and more
  • This position will begin work on/about August 12, 2024, to prepare for the school year and is to be completed in accordance with the published school calendar as instructed by the school’s administration
  • New faculty may be asked to or expected to complete some preliminary training and/or engage in preliminary onboarding experiences during the summer of 2024
