Jesuit High School is proud to announce its inclusion in the prestigious College Board’s AP® School Honor Roll for the 2022-23 school year. This accolade recognizes the exceptional work undertaken by Jesuit High School in supporting students on their journey to college success by expanding access to Advanced Placement courses.

In addition, Jesuit High School is honored to receive the AP Access Award, a distinct recognition that underscores the school’s dedication to providing opportunities for low-income or underrepresented minority students to participate in AP courses, maintaining a proportional representation in these advanced classes with the demographics of the student body. This recognition is a testament to Jesuit High School’s continuous efforts in fostering diversity and inclusion within academic excellence.

For the academic year 2022-2023, 70 percent of seniors were enrolled in at least one AP exam during high school, 54 percent of seniors scored a three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 31 percent of seniors took five or more AP exams. Jesuit High School offered 22 different AP courses, 46 sections of AP classes taught by 18 AP instructors.

“Jesuit is proud to offer a wide variety of Advanced Placement courses that meet the interests of our students,” Jesuit High School Principal Michael Wood said. “We are especially proud that over 70 percent of our students take an AP class. Jesuit takes pride in allowing our students to challenge themselves in the subject areas they are desiring to explore more deeply. None of this is possible without the most dedicated, talented, and caring team of educators in the region. This is but one example of the quality of the academic experience and the caring nature of our community.”

College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program enables students to pursue college-level studies with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both while still in high school. Through AP courses, each culminating in a challenging exam or portfolio submission, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue, skills that prepare them for college and beyond.
