The JV Gold soccer game against Rio Americano’s Freshman team was played in a mud-pit.  With terrible field conditions, the Marauders had a hard time finding their footing. Rio scored two goals in quick succession, capitalizing on mud-impacted play. It was a very physical game. Twenty-two minutes into the half Jesuit finally found a break when Anthony Alvarado found Nolan Rodriguez. A few minutes later, a Ryan Young corner kick squeaked through and Campbell Carter was there to put it in the back of the net.  Then, just before half, a handball by the keeper resulted in an indirect free kick. Josh Chou hammered it home, using the wall to his advantage. The entire second half was a battle, with both sides having opportunities, but the Marauders were able to hold onto the lead. Final Score : Jesuit 3 – Rio Americano 2.
