In a much-anticipated rematch, the JV Red soccer team faced Davis on February 1st. The last time these two teams met, Davis escaped with a 0-0 tie, as the Marauders had trouble converting. This time, however, Jesuit came to play. In the 3rd minute Zach Lozano’s cross found a sliding Joey Asfari to make it 1-0. This goal set the tone for the game, with the Marauders in complete control. In the 20th minute, Matthew Kahn cleaned up a mess in front of the goal, and a few minutes later, Julian Churchill’s corner kick found Demetri Petuskey’s head. Just before half the Marauder’s made it 4-0 as Asfari slid in again off a keeper save. Early in the second half, Jack Clark made an amazing save tipping the ball over the goal. This gave Jesuit even more incentive. Kahn found the goal again, volleying in a Lozano cross. Elijah Beverly scored in a skirmish off a corner and finally in the 60th minute, Churchill perfectly placed a free kick. Final Score JESUIT 7 – DAVIS 0
