The Marauders came to Davis last Friday after a record 3-game cancellation streak, as Whitney, University, and Elk Grove were unable to play. While it was another rainy matchup, a muddy field would not be a factor this time, as this game was played on turf. Jesuit was hoping to best the Blue Devils after their 1-1 tie last time. Two minutes into the game Joey Afsari was taken down in the box for a PK. He placed his shot in the right corner and the Marauders took an early lead. Unfortunately, that call proved to be one of the few called in Jesuit’s favor all game. Davis came out hustling and was first to every ball. Inevitably, they tied it up in the 33rd minute on a set play after a questionable call. The Devils’ tenacity was rewarded when they scored off the ensuing skirmish. The Marauders played the second half with more effort, but the physicality with which Davis played, combined with no calls going Jesuit’s way was problematic. Davis scored again with 22 minutes to go in the game.  Jesuit just couldn’t generate any good looks on goal. The Marauders lost their second of the season 2-1. They have two games left this week, against Pleasant Grove, and Franklin, who handed Jesuit it’s only other loss.
