In the final week of the season, the JV Red traveled to Pleasant Grove to play the Eagles. It was a cold rainy day and the team arrived at a field that was a complete mud pit. Pleasant Grove scored early on an unfortunate mud-aided miscommunication. The Marauders couldn’t put any offense together and was unsuccessful adapting to the poor conditions. The Eagles put in another long shot which squirted in before halftime. Down 2-0, the JV Red dug in and played mud-ball. Four minutes into the half Alexander Maguire combined with Joey Asfari, who found the back of the net.  Just a minute later, Afsari then made a hard pass to Ben Hewitt making a run and Ben slotted it in the corner. The rest of the half was a battle to just make passes, as no dribbling was possible. While the Eagles had a couple of long shots, nothing went in. The Marauders put on the full press, with numerous shots blocked with fingertip-saves. Unfortunately, the Reds were unable to score a third time, and the score stood at 2-2. The Marauders finish up their season this Wednesday at home against Franklin, hoping to avenge their earlier loss.
