The JV Red soccer team traveled to Cordova High Sschool for their first game of the season. A penalty was called in the opening minutes and #3 Joe Afsai,  buried the shot for Jesuit’s first goal of the year.  Chris Meyers then assisted Cole Barrett, and then Barrett immediately assisted Meyers. In the 13th minute, Freshman Elijah Beverly scored on a deflected shot, bringing the score to 4-0. Barrett found Meyers again a few minutes later, and Meyers hammered it in the upper corner. Cordova’s second keeper didn’t fare much better, with #3 Afsari finding the net amid a skirmish in the box. With ten minutes left in the half, Matthew Kahn slotted one past the keeper on a pass from Jacob Wong. Just before halftime, Ulises Esquivel capitalized on a keeper error, bringing the score to 8-0. Beverly started the half with his second goal, then the JV Red eased off the gas and played possession. Final score Marauders 9-0 over the Cordova Lancers. Boys have their home opener on Tuesday, December 5 versus Rio Americano.
