You Could Be the Match! Blood Stem Cell Donor Registry Day
Open to students and our Jesuit community members ages 18-35 in the Welcome Center

Event Barry Gym

As Jesuit Sacramento seniors prepare to graduate, they’re stepping up for something bigger than themselves.

Join the blood stem cell donor registry—and offer hope to patients fighting blood cancers and disorders. You can help people with blood cancers or disorders get a life-saving transplant.

  • If you’re between the ages of 18 – 35 and willing to donate blood stem cells if called upon, all it takes is a simple cheek swab to join the registry. You could be someone’s cure!
  • Seniors and Jesuit community members can register and have a simple cheek-swab test done on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 9:00 am – 12:30 pm in the Welcome Center. This registry day will be held during the graduation rehearsal and BBQ.

Other Ways to Help

  • Under 18 but want to help? We’ve got a special waiting list just for YOU! Pre-register now to help when you are 18.
  • Can’t make it to the Jesuit Sacramento campus? You can register online with NMDP (formerly Be The Match) registry, complete the short health questionnaire, and request a free, at-home cheek swab kit. The kit arrives in 3–7 business days; you then swab your cheeks and return it via a prepaid envelope.

In Honor of Eva

Jesuit Sacramento is doing this Match Day in honor of Eva, age 6, who needs a blood stem cell transplant from a matching donor and is registered with NMDP.

Eva and her family live in our community, and she loves her little brother, dancing (especially jazz, tap, and ballet), drawing, and writing stories. Eva is a kind friend who always makes sure new classmates are welcomed and that everyone is included in activities.

Jesuit Sacramento joins Strake Jesuit and Jesuit Dallas, who have been championing this cause since 2021. Let’s show how our community truly is, Men and Women for Others, as we come together in support of Eva and NMDP.

About NMDP

For people with life-threatening blood cancers or other blood disorders, a blood stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor may be their best, or only, hope of a cure. NMDP connects patients with a matching donor for the life-saving transplant they desperately need.

We are committed to our vision: a world where every patient can receive their life-saving cell therapy.
