Marauders Win Team Title at Postal Championships

The cross country teams took to the track for the Hoka One One Postal Meet on Wednesday on the Walt Lange Track at Jesuit. Personal records highlighted races throughout the day, and in the final heat of the night, seven Marauders broke the 10-minute barrier to average 9:37 for the 3200m, totaling a team time of 48:09. When converting to 2-mile times, the Marauders 48:25 ranks second behind the 48:17 team time by Wayzata High School in Minnesota. Senior Colin Ryan ran down Xander Riemers of Rio Americano on the final 100m and barely edged him at the finish, 9:29.6 to 9:29.7, for the win. Senior Gabe Lovely also took off and nearly missed second place, running 9:29.9 for third. Seniors Colin Brannan and Miles Worthen hit huge personal bests, both running 9:42 for 10th and 11th, respectively. Senior Antonio Vargas was 14th in 9:44, junior Chase Gordon ran 9:48 for 17th and senior Anthony Rogado was 18th in 9:51. Rocklin took second with a team time of 49:41 and Rio Americano was third with a time of 49:53.

The Marauders head into the championship phase of the season next Saturday, October 27, at the Delta League Championships at Willow Will.
