Japanese Manga & Anime Drawing

Description

Japanese manga dates back to the late 1700’s yet today anime (manga’s cinematic adaptation) alone is multi-million dollar industry in the US! In this camp, students will look at the history of manga/anime in Japan, learn to replicate popular mangaka (Japanese manga artist) styles, and finish the week creating our own unique manga page. As we draw, anime adaptations of our studied mangakas will play in the background to create a truly immersive manga/anime experience!

Fashion Intro to Customizing Clothes with Paint

Grade 6-8, Co-ed  (6/26 – 6/30 PM)

Description

Customizing your clothes gives you a new voice in fashion, from top to bottom, denim jacket to shoe, customization gives artists the power to wear their hearts on their sleeves, literally! In this camp, students will learn all the basics needed to customize their first piece of clothing. We will start with painting basics, talk about idea/design, and finish the week fully customizing our selected piece. From anime character to intricate flower, if you’ve ever thought your wardrobe needed something more, this is the place to start!

Comic Book Appreciation & Creation

Grade 5-8, Co-ed  (6/12 – 6/16 AM)

Description

Comics have the power to bring people together through the beautiful images that are used to convey captivating stories. In this camp, 5th-8th graders will explore several stories told through the comic form, and students will also create their own comics. We will begin by reading and discussing some comics, and in the second half of the camp, students will create their own! Please consider joining us for this engaging camp!

Basic Digital Photography

Grades 2-5, Co-ed  (6/12 - 6/16 AM or 6/26 – 6/30 PM)

Description

Start taking the best possible photos on your mobile devices by learning how to see the world around you as a photographer does. You will learn how to search out the best lighting and subjects for your photos and create narratives within your frame. This digital course will cover the rules of composition, mobile editing, and how to best showcase your finished product. This course will prove that photography is not always about having the fanciest equipment, but about having the best technique.

Advanced Digital Photography

Grades 6-8, Co-ed (6/12 - 6/16 PM or 6/26 – 6/30 AM)

Description

Come join this advanced section of Digital Photography camp! This camp is designed for graduates of Camp 1 or campers with some skill with digital photography. Students in this camp should be entering grades 6, 7 or 8. Tech requirements for photos: mobile device or tablet with the student at camp that can take photos and also download the free Adobe Lightroom app. Not sure this course is for you?
