Jesuit High School Sacramento seeks a creative, mission-driven Social Media Marketing Associate to join its Marketing & Communications team. This position serves as a key storyteller and brand ambassador, helping bring the mission and impact of Jesuit Sacramento to life through social media.
The Social Media Marketing Associate communicates the vibrant experiences of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the broader school community, showcasing the transformative value of a Jesuit education. Through authentic storytelling and compelling digital content, this role helps strengthen awareness, engagement, and affinity among current families, prospective families, alumni, donors, and community partners.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications and in a strong team environment, the Social Media Marketing Associate plays an important role in ensuring Jesuit’s social media presence reflects the excellence, values, and spirit of the school while advancing institutional priorities and fostering meaningful connections with its audiences.
Duties & Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that advances Jesuit Sacramento’s marketing, enrollment, advancement, and community engagement goals.
- Create and manage annual, seasonal, and event-based campaigns that align with institutional priorities and key school initiatives.
- Build and maintain a strategic content calendar that ensures a balanced representation of academics, athletics, arts, faith formation, service, student life, leadership, alumni engagement, and philanthropy.
- Develop purposeful story arcs and audience-focused campaigns that strengthen awareness, engagement, and affinity among current families, prospective families, alumni, donors, and community stakeholders.
Platform Management & Community Engagement
- Manage the school’s official social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms as appropriate.
- Oversee affiliated social media accounts across departments, athletics, and student organizations, ensuring alignment with brand standards and best practices.
- Foster meaningful audience engagement by monitoring comments, messages, mentions, and community conversations in a professional and mission-centered manner.
- Amplify and curate content generated by departments, teams, clubs, students, faculty, staff, and alumni to strengthen school-wide storytelling.
- Help ensure consistent brand standards, voice, messaging, and visual identity across all official social media channels.
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Identify, capture, and share compelling stories that highlight the transformative impact of a Jesuit education and the experiences of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners.
- Create and publish high-quality mission-aligned social media content, including photography, videography, graphics, reels, stories, short-form video, interviews, feature spotlights, and written copy.
- Attend campus events, athletic competitions, performances, liturgies, service projects, and other activities to gather authentic content and tell timely stories.
Analytics & Performance Optimization
- Utilize Meta Business Suite and platform-specific analytics tools to establish benchmarks, monitor performance, and evaluate campaign effectiveness.
- Track key performance indicators, engagement metrics, audience growth, and content trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze data and audience behavior to refine content strategy, posting schedules, and campaign approaches in support of organizational goals.
- Prepare regular reports and recommendations that communicate performance insights and inform future marketing efforts.
- Reputation management and monitoring of online reviews and community feedback.
Collaboration & Communications Support
- Collaborate with members of the Marketing & Communications team to develop integrated campaigns across social media, digital, print, web, email, and video channels.
- Partner with Admissions, Advancement, Alumni, Athletics, Academic Departments, Campus Ministry, Service & Justice, Student Activities, and school leadership to identify storytelling opportunities and support institutional priorities.
- Provide guidance and best practices to school-based content contributors to strengthen content quality, engagement, and brand consistency.
- Maintain awareness of school calendars, events, milestones, and priorities to identify and plan content opportunities proactively.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized archive of social media assets, including photography, video, graphics, and campaign materials.
- Maintain records of official Jesuit Sacramento social media accounts, account administrators, and access credentials in accordance with school policies.
- Stay current on emerging social media platforms, digital marketing trends, industry best practices, and evolving platform functionality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong proficiency with Meta Business Suite, Instagram, Facebook, and social media analytics tools.
- Experience planning and executing multi-platform content and marketing campaigns.
- Proficiency with Canva and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar creative tools.
- Excellent written, visual, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Understanding of social media strategy, brand stewardship, audience engagement, and digital marketing best practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in independent schools, higher education, Catholic education, nonprofit organizations, or other mission-driven institutions.
- Experience with photography, videography, and video editing for social and digital platforms.
- Familiarity with enrollment marketing, advancement communications, alumni relations, and donor engagement.
- Familiarity with Jesuit education, Ignatian values, and the mission of Catholic education.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for long periods of time; to perform daily activities from a desk; to operate a computer and various office equipment. Occasional lifting and transporting of boxes up to 20 lbs.
- The individual in this position is required to work occasional predetermined evening and weekend special events.
