Dear Friends,
There is no lack of inspiration for gratitude at Jesuit High School Sacramento. I witness incredible generosity each day on this campus. Somehow, in the busyness of our days, teachers, staff, students, and parents all find “more” to give. St. Ignatius points out to us that this experience of “magis” is rooted in gratitude, a gratitude that is at the heart of our daily praying of The Examen.
Even though we are not together on campus this week, we can be “united” in this prayer. My encouragement to you is to make some time to pray The Examen, a brief, daily prayer of reflection that helps us become more aware of God’s presence in our lives. During our school day, we pause together as a community each afternoon to say this prayer which follows a very basic format.
My hope is that, in the quiet moments, in the spaces between each part of the prayer, your heart may be overwhelmed with peace and with the awareness that God is always at work in your lives and in our world.
May we all experience deep peace, profound gratitude, and a desire to love and be of service to others.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Peace,

Chris Alling, President
