Staying Connected – June 11
JHS intends to safely return to school in August as planned.

Update

Parents, Students, and Friends,

As we move through June, we are focusing our energy on the Safe Return Task Force and we want to keep you informed along the way. We received guidance from the California Department of Public Health this week and have consulted with local organizations and authorities. They have confirmed that we have the discretion to create a customized plan that is best suited for Jesuit High School Sacramento and our unique campus and context.

Jesuit Sacramento’s goal is to create a plan where all students will return to campus every day by leveraging the space afforded by our 52-acre campus for social distancing while also utilizing a dynamic learning model where families may choose to take advantage of in-person or remote learning when needed.

The Safe Return Task Force has made preparations for some staff, Summer School employees, and Athletics to have a partial return to campus this summer.

Next week Jesuit Athletics has been approved to begin summer workouts in safe ways using the guidance from Sacramento County, local school districts, CIF, National Federation of State High School Associations, National Athletic Trainers Association, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Student-athletes and their families will hear directly from their coach or the Athletic Director with details on plans for their return.

Hygiene supplies, sanitizing supplies, cleaning supplies, safety supplies, and technology needs are currently being identified and ordered in preparation for both summer and fall. This is no small task, as many members of the Task Force are working on the Safe Return project in addition to their usual workload during summer break. We want to thank everyone who is contributing, and who will contribute, to the safe reopening of the school. It’s a worthy team effort.

Jesuit High School Sacramento intends to safely return to school in August as planned, beginning with our student orientations on August 12.

Blessings to all of our Jesuit Sacramento families for a joyous summer. We look forward to seeing you again soon. You have been missed!
