Weekly Update Nov 13, 2025
Join us for our annual Food Drive
Dear parents and families of Jesuit High School,
Starting on November 17 and ending on December 5, we are excited to begin this year’s holiday season with our annual Food Drive! The Food Drive is Jesuit’s longest standing tradition, with 2025 being our 59th consecutive year. For the last 46 of these 59 years, Jesuit has been partnered with the Stanford Settlement in their food drive called Operation Cratchit. All of the donations we receive goes directly to the Stanford Settlement, which they then distribute to families in North Sacramento.
These families served by the Stanford Settlement are often food insecure and live within food deserts. Everyone deserves a proper Christmas meal, and we hope that our efforts with the Food Drive help make that a reality. The Stanford Settlement seeks to support them with food that we collect to alleviate some of the struggle they face.
The Food Drive has proved to be an integral part of Jesuit, and we continue to participate in the Food Drive to live out our mission as “Men for Others” and invoke belonging within our own community. We are called by our faith to serve our neighbors, and the Food Drive has been a fantastic way to do so. Moreover, the Food Drive is what brings us together as a community, especially from the perspective of a student. I remember waking up extra early to help load cans into the trailer and then staying after school to help unload them at the Stanford Settlement. Even though it left me tired and sore from lifting boxes, the experience was even more rewarding because I had the opportunity to bond with my classmates and make the most of my time during the Jesuit Food Drive.
I invite you to get involved in the Food Drive this year with the many opportunities we have available to you. We encourage you to donate food and money, canvass with your sons around your neighborhood, and have your sons participate in the Food Drive Unload on December 5. Student Council will happily receive your donations at the Elite Power trailer set up in the mornings before school begins next to the Rugby Field starting November 17. We look forward to seeing you and your sons involved in the Food Drive this year!
On behalf of Student Council, we thank you!
Sincerely,
Student Body President Emmett Gustorf
