After the hotly contested Varsity A side match, and with many of the sophomores getting time in the Varsity B side match, a mostly freshmen side took the field for the JV match.  Showing a nifty side step after coming around on a lineout, sophomore hooker, Connor Phillips started off the scoring by ducking in on the right (conversion missed).  Jesuit 5 – Lamo 0.  Although, they were undermanned and had a few Marauders in their ranks (sophomore prop, Jared Hight, and sophomore fullback, Jagger Saca), Lamo battled back for a well-earned try+conversion to take the lead.  Jesuit 5 – Lamo 7.  At this point, the Big Red Machine really came to life and started hitting their stride.  Freshmen flanker, Cash Taylor dotted down with freshmen scrumhalf, David Hause on the conversion to regain the lead.  Jesuit 12 – Lamo 7.  Freshmen flanker, Tucker Johnstone was next (conversion, Hause) to get the halftime score to Jesuit 19 – Lamo 7.  The second half saw some sophomores sprinkled in and they immediately showed their class with sophomore wing, Hunter Donalson finishing off a tremendous team effort that saw the ball go through multiple players with some cheeky offloads (conversion, Hause).  Jesuit 26 – Lamo 7.  Multiple infractions (offsides, hands-in, etc.) saw Jesuit concede an unnecessary penalty try.  Jesuit 26 – Lamo 14.  Two more successive scores from sophomore flanker, Maddox Martinez (conversion missed) and sophomore flyhalf, Donovan Choa (conversion missed) closed out the scoring in an injury shortened second half.  Final score:  Jesuit 36 – Lamo 14.

Man of the Match honors went to sophomore hooker, Soren Peterson, and freshmen flyhalf, Will Segale.

For those who were brave enough to stay through the icy wind until the final whistle, Lamorinda were excellent hosts and put on a fantastic post-match spread in the Wilder Field clubhouse.  Players, parents, and coaches had a great selection of pulled pork, ribs, brisket, spaghetti and meatballs, pasta salad, multiple green salads, fruit salad, breads, rolls, and a wide selection of desserts.
