The Jesuit Varsity Red side took on a very athletic McClatchy second side Saturday afternoon. The scoring began with McClatchy playing some very loose, but very skilled, rugby, piecing phases and offloads together to put the Marauders on their heels. Keeping poise, Jesuit flyhalf Jack Marchant and fullback Tommy Pappas worked hard to build momentum as the Lions kept pressure building.

After the half and down three tries, the Red team rallied with some inspiring efforts from the Fettig brothers (Josh and Ben), Josh Bagwell, and newcomer Grant Gini to tie the game with less than three minutes to the final whistle. It was the Lions, however, that closed the game out with the final try to seal the victory.

Man of the Match honors went to Sam Schwartz and Jake Nelson.

Final score: JHS 37 – 42 CKM
