It was a long drive to Sacramento, and the game Atwater played against the Marauders likely seemed longer. The JV Red Soccer team waited until the 8th minute to score, and after that, the goals kept coming. Jack Maguire started the boys off when he capitalized on a bobbled ball by the keeper. A few minutes later Maguire set Julian Churchill up. In the 18th minute, Aiden Baker’s pass to Elijah Beverly was back-heeled in. Beverly then assisted Demetri Petuskey, who brought the ball down for a pretty goal. Atwater’s defense continued to have trouble, and Beverly scored again on a poor clearance, and then again on a second effort off his own shot. Jesuit scored their 7th and 8th goals just before half when Vincent Micheli found Lucca Arcolino who put it away, and Jacob Wong’s cross to Lucas English was finished nicely. Atwater had only one shot on goal. In the second half Baker found Beverly again, and Petuskey got his second of the match as he fought through the defense unassisted. Petuskey then set up Beverly for his 4th goal of the game. The final goal was scored by keeper Jack Clark, playing forward, off a nice pass from Cooper McGrail. Final Score MARAUDERS 12 – ATWATER FALCONS -0.
