The varsity water polo team continued their unbeaten season by dominating Woodcreek 20-2 in nonconference play. Last year’s Sac-Joaquin Section MVP, Joe Cavazos, tallied 5 goals, leading a group of eight players who found the back of the net for Jesuit. Other top scorers included juniors Cody Ferguson (4 goals) and Joey Holloway (3 goals), both of whom continued their strong early season scoring, senior Jack Jenkins (3 goals), and junior Jackson Wacker (2 goals).

Senior Reed Caron had a strong all-around game with 5 assists and 3 steals, and was  part of a smothering defense that tallied 21 steals overall and only allowed Woodcreek to convert one of their six, 6-on-5 opportunities.  With the win, Jesuit moves to 4-0 on the season.

The coming week will see Jesuit challenged by Section rival St. Mary’s of Stockton, in a possible Section playoff preview, followed by a trip to Clovis North High School on Friday and Saturday, where the team will spend the weekend battling some of the top teams in northern and central California.
