Being a nurse and also having a rare blood type, Sarb is acutely aware of the need for blood donors. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many regular donors stopped giving due to health concerns, causing a critical shortage that impacted hospitals and their ability to treat patients. Sarb and her sons, who are also regular donors, jumped into action. Knowing this was a way they could help make a difference during this crisis, not only did they give blood, they spread the word throughout the Jesuit community to encourage others to help. “In these difficult times it may seem hard to be able to find a way to help out and serve others, but it must be understood that there is always a way to give back. I chose to do that by donating blood,” said Dev Shokar.
