On Tuesday, April 25, Jesuit High School Sacramento hosted its annual car show, which allowed students to see and appreciate some exotic, classic, and beautifully built cars.

Teacher Mr. Paul Rose sees the car show as not only an opportunity for students and faculty to see the awesome vehicles being shown off, but also for the car owner’s themselves to proudly present and talk about the cars into which they’ve devoted so much of their care and effort.

“Everyone is excited to share their stories about their cars and talk about what they have done to their cars,” Mr. Rose said. “Most aren’t there to say ‘look at me.’ To me a car show is like going to an art gallery; these cars are rolling art. People appreciate the lines and art of the car.”

Car Club President Kenny Castro ’23 felt that the car show was so popular because of the sense of community that was created through the cars and socialization among the many in attendance.

“The Jesuit car show was so popular because it was an event where people could get really close to the cars and even sit in them,” Kenny said. “It was popular because past alumni or parents could talk to students about their car and it really brought the whole school together and got people excited.”

Mr. Rose enjoys seeing the excitement of the car show and the effect it has on the Jesuit community.

“I enjoy visiting with all the [alumni] and parents who bring their cars and share an enthusiasm for our hobby,” Mr. Rose said. “But I mostly enjoy the excitement of the students when they run out to the quad to look at all the cars parked out there.”

Car Club member Aldrin Ceraj ’23 was one of the students who greatly appreciated the vehicles brought out for students to examine, also noting how rare some cars were in daily life.

“I enjoyed the quality of the cars present,” Aldrin said. “I saw more Ferraris and Lamborghinis on that day than I did all year.”

Kenny Castro is hopeful that the car show and the positive impact it has had on the community will continue to prosper even after he graduates from Jesuit this year.

“I really enjoyed doing the car shows and helping guide the Car Club,” Kenny said. “I hope that people will enjoy them for many years to come as the Car Club continues to expand and the Jesuit community continues to love cars.”

The Jesuit car show had a wonderful turnout this year, bringing new levels of joy and brotherhood to the community. It also created a new sense of admiration and interest in cars for many students, which will hopefully continue throughout the years as the car show continues to showcase even more exotic and stylish automobiles.
