For Jack Gallaway ’23, the Jesuit motto of a “Man for Others” has become an integral part of his view of the world.

“I want to always be available for others,” Jack said. “Jesuit has expanded my horizons and has taught me to see things from a new perspective.”

Jack really emphasizes the importance of brotherhood by spending time with his friends even during a busy school year.

“[Though the] first semester has been pretty hectic balancing student council commitments, classes, and college applications, my last year at Jesuit is treating me well,” Jack said. “It’s nice to have a year with no interruptions and be with all of my guys.”

Ben Condrin ’23 admires Jack’s personality as a leader and his contributions to the Jesuit community.

“He is a great leader that is truly devoted to his friends and those around him,” Ben said. “Jack offers a lot to the Jesuit community. He is a great role model and you can really tell he wants the best for everyone in the Jesuit community.”

Social Sciences Department Chair Mr. Paul Rose appreciates Jack’s positive personality and how it changes the mood of the classroom.

“Jack is a very uplifting, positive person,” Mr. Rose said. “He is adventurous by nature and fun to have in class. He is a good student, a good Jesuit brother to his classmates, and loves Jesuit.”

Jack is a leader and a great role model for students in the Jesuit community, inspiring others to progress without fear.

“[Jack] has gained the perspective of others and, at his age, has a unique ability to be empathetic,” said AP Economics teacher Mr. John Flynn ’98. “Jack is a leader; not afraid to put the effort in, courageous enough to go first, and caring enough to encourage others and to stand up for fairness.”

Not only is Jack an outstanding Jesuit student, but he also works to meet and reach his personal goals outside of school.

“I don’t play any Jesuit sports, but I’m currently training for an Ironman in June,” said Jack. “I’m an avid big mountain and backcountry skier, and I surf when I can.”

Jack is a leader and a great role model for students in the Jesuit community. He is independent, high achieving, and yet still, a “Man for Others.” Jack is overall devoted to the things he admires in his life and that devotion will hopefully continue to live on as he graduates from Jesuit.
