On Nov. 5, the Jesuit High School Sacramento varsity football team beat the Joseph A. Gregori High School Jaguars 38-10.

With this win, Jesuit is now 9-2 on the season  and 1-0 in the 2022 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Football Playoffs.

Wide receiver Trenton Dewar ’23 thought the team wasn’t performing as well as possible in the first half against Gregori, but found its rhythm in the second.

“I think we played pretty well,” Trenton said. “I mean we came out a little slow during the first half, but in the second half we turned it up and played how we should be.”

Running back Tatum Pappas ’23, while originally unsure about how Jesuit would fare against GHS, was very proud of his team by the end of the game.

“We didn’t really know how good Gregori was going to actually be, and we just came in… lights out!” Pappas said.

Looking towards this week’s game, Trenton sees Rocklin as a tough team to beat that will surely require Jesuit’s A-game

“They are a very good team,” Trenton said. “They are very strong, very physical, and love to hit, so it should be a good game.”

This Friday, watch Jesuit face the Rocklin Storms at Rocklin High School at 7 pm. Jesuit’s Student Executive Council has declared the theme of the game as ski gear! Make sure to wear ski gear in order to fight the storm.
