The new animated basketball film “GOAT” recently concluded its theatrical run, and received a good amount of attention from audiences. The movie focuses on a young goat who dreams of becoming a professional roarball (basketball) player, even though he is considered too small to compete. The film was very entertaining and did a great job telling an inspiring underdog story.

The main character, Will Harris who is voiced by Caleb McLaughlin, is determined to prove everyone wrong. Larger and stronger animals usually play roarball, which leads to many players doubting that a goat could ever succeed in the league. Throughout the movie, Will trains hard and refuses to give up on his dream. His determination and positive attitude makes him an easy character to root for.

Another important character in the story is Jett Fillmore, (voiced by Gabrielle Union) a powerful black panther who is already a star player. At first, Jett is unsure about having Will on the team, but she eventually becomes one of Will’s biggest supporters. Their teamwork and growing friendship become a big part of the movie’s message about believing in others and working together.

The film also features a strong rival, Mane Attraction, a talented horse player who creates challenges for other roarball players during the roarball games. The rivalry between Will and Mane adds excitement to the story and makes the game scenes more intense and more entertaining to watch for the audience.

“GOAT” is a movie that combines sports action, humor, and an inspiring message. The animation is vibrant and colorful, the characters are memorable, and the roarball matches keep the audience engaged in the film. In my opinion, the movie excels as it shows that hard work and confidence can help someone achieve their goals, even when others doubt them.

Another reason the movie stands out is how it connects with the audience emotionally. As the story progresses, viewers see Will Harris face challenges, mistakes, and pressure from other players, but he continues to improve and grow. By the end of the film, the message about perseverance and believing in yourself becomes clear, which is why “GOAT” is a movie that many people will remember and recommend to others.

Overall, I’d give “GOAT” a 8.2/10. Though the film is no longer showing in theaters, it is available to rent and watch on platforms like Youtube, Amazon Prime, and Apple TV.
