Our Way of Proceeding and the Co-divisional Model

Pod

All Jesuit (Society of Jesus) schools worldwide embrace certain attitudes, values, and patterns of behavior that together form what has been called the Jesuit way of proceeding. These characteristics were born in the life of St. Ignatius and shared by his first companions. Each of these characteristics was utilized when setting our school’s future:

To show the way to God through discernment

After reflecting and discerning the future of Jesuit High School Sacramento, the Board of Trustees is inspired to create an opportunity for young women to experience the gifts of Jesuit education.

To accompany the youth to a hope-filled future

Our reflection was informed by the changing landscape in which our students live after their secondary school experience. It is imperative to imagine a new model of education that is responsive to the needs of the individual learner and the contemporary world.

Spiritu, corde, practice: in the Spirit, from the heart, & with practicality

As fiduciaries of Jesuit Sacramento, the Board of Trustees is responsible for the school’s long-term financial viability. The co-divisional model promotes enrollment accessibility, revenue predictability, and long-term sustainability.

Competence, conscience, compassion, and commitment

Jesuit Sacramento builds a foundation for life for its students through these four pillars of Ignatian education. With the addition of a Girls Division, it can now expand that foundation and form well-rounded individuals—both girls and boys—preparing them not only for academic success but also for lives of purpose and service.

The Magis

As an Ignatian Jesuit institution, we strive for excellence and serve others with dedication and passion. It is not about simply doing more but about doing things with greater quality, depth, and purpose. With “the magis” and as a part of the largest network of private schools in the world, Jesuit Sacramento is ready to embrace a new era for our Catholic school community.
