This is an evening for counselors to formally introduce themselves to parents of freshmen and provide an overview of services the Counseling Department provides for your students while they attend Jesuit High School. Topics covered during this event include key dates and communication sources from our department, wellness support, study habits, scheduling and placement processes, and college advising.

Christian Brothers High School will be hosting the Sacramento Private and Parochial Schools College Fair this year. This is a wonderful opportunity for juniors, seniors, and their parents to talk with representatives from a variety of colleges, universities, and military academies across the US. Carpooling is encouraged, as parking is limited.

The Counseling Department partnered with St. Louis University to discuss FAFSA, provided an overview of how the financial aid process works, the CSS Profile, types of aid available, how scholarships are incorporated, and other very helpful tips on preparing for the cost of college.
RACC schools will be visiting Jesuit High School during lunch in the soph/junior quad area. Students will be able to get information about out-of-state colleges and have their questions answered by the college representatives on campus that day.
The Counseling Department is hosting a FREE Pancake Breakfast for ALL students during fall finals! Students are invited to join us on Thursday in the Harris Center from 7:00 am – 8:00 am. Your students’ counselors, teachers, and administrators will be serving up hot pancakes and hot chocolate along with a little holiday cheer and music to start their day. This is a long-standing tradition at Jesuit and we all look forward to seeing your students and wishing them the best of luck on their upcoming finals!

Parents of sophomores and juniors are encouraged to attend this webinar that will review the college application process from beginning to end and the individualized college counseling program provided by Jesuit High School. Topics include the college search, Naviance Student tools and data, college testing, explanation of the various application types and platforms, paying for college and more.
If your son is interested in taking AP courses next year, watch the pre-webinar presentation by Colin O’Connor, Assistant Principal for Academics. The presentation will focus on basic information about Jesuit’s advanced courses, the philosophy behind offering these courses, work expectations, and balancing the demands of these courses with co-curricular after-school activities. Hopefully, this information will prove helpful in your son’s decision-making for the 2025-2026 school year courses.
