Advancing Our Campus
Contractor Update and Reimagined Campus Spaces
Contractor Selection
In support of Phase One campus updates, Jesuit High School has selected Descor Builders as the general contractor. Of the three companies that bid on the project, Descor stood out for its relevant project experience, the strength and experience of its team and their portfolio, and its overall cost and schedule approach. Their emphasis on being stewards of our campus environment and resources underscored their alignment with our overall mission and vision. The project will be led by Marshal Mariucci, Preconstruction Manager, Matt Mesaros, Senior Project Manager, and Mike Atencio, Superintendent. In addition, we are thrilled to welcome Will Peterson ’15 back to campus as Descor’s Project Engineer.
New design concepts reimagine campus spaces to support student well‑being and collaboration
We are pleased to share an early set of inspirational design renderings from HMC Architects, a firm whose mission closely aligns with our Jesuit values. HMC “designs for good,” approaching architecture as a way to serve the greater good by anticipating community needs and creating spaces that support human well‑being and environmental health.
These initial concepts focus on the thoughtful repurposing and renewal of two existing campus spaces: the current King Library and an upper level of the Student Athletic Center. Both will become essential hubs within our emerging co‑divisional campus model.
- The library is being reimagined as a welcoming, flexible center for students—bringing together counseling services, academic support, and peer tutoring under one roof in a shared space that fosters collaboration and focuses on student well‑being. The common area continues to provide an open, welcoming space for students to gather, connect, learn, and study.
- Within the Student Athletic Center, the first of two permanent girls’ locker rooms will be created in existing upstairs areas. Designed with ample natural light and purposeful finishes, the space will reflect a clean, modern aesthetic that fosters pride, belonging, and school spirit.
- This phase of work also includes the conversion of existing counseling offices into classrooms, restroom updates, and the relocation and expansion of sports medicine.
All these early designs reflect a clear, strong commitment to creating environments that support the academic, emotional, and spiritual well-being of all students. While still in development, they represent an exciting step forward as we continue aligning our facilities with the evolving needs of a co-divisional model and intentional design for the well-being of all our students.
