Full-Time, Dean of Students for the Girls Division
Jesuit High School Sacramento is currently accepting applications for a full-time Dean of Students for the Girls Division, open until filled.
Position Overview
Jesuit employs a Dean of Students for both the Boys Division and the Girls Division of the school. The Dean of Students for the Girls Division works in partnership with the Dean of Students for the Boys Division in managing the Dean’s Office and related responsibilities. In an inherently collaborative role, the Deans are directly responsible to the Principal for the implementation of the disciplinary policies and Rules of Conduct of the school (as outlined in the Student-Parent Handbook). The Deans serve as the Chief Attendance Officers and are responsible for coordinating on-campus event supervision.
The Dean’s Office plays an impactful role in the daily lives of students. It is expected that the men and women in this office respond to a wide variety of student needs in a responsive, respectful, and pastoral manner so as to create a positive experience for students and their families. The Duties and Responsibilities listed below cannot fully convey the dynamic, demanding and potentially rewarding nature of the day-to-day work in building trust with colleagues, students and parents. For all members of the Dean’s Office staff, their goal is to create/maintain a culture where physical and emotional safety are paramount – allowing for real reflection and growth both inside and outside the classroom and to ensure each student feels that Jesuit is a place of belonging as they navigate the normal complexity of high school life.
- Compensation Range: $90,000 – $110,000 yearly, based on education and experience
- This position is classified as a full-time, Exempt position

- Willing to work with the candidate on a mutually agreeable start date in preparation for the school year and will be completed in accordance with the published school calendar as instructed by the school’s administration
- New faculty may be asked to or expected to complete some preliminary training and/or engage in preliminary onboarding experiences during the summer of 2026
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages the elections for and serves as chair of the Discipline Board
- Keeps accurate records pertaining to attendance, absences, tardies, and discipline. The office issues admit slips to students who have been absent or tardy and also authorizes early dismissals, if necessary
- Monitors student conduct at athletic events and all school activities. Arranges for Administrative supervision at athletic competitions in consultation with the Athletic Director
- Collaborates regularly with the Director of Campus Safety in areas of campus supervision and emergency preparedness
- Oversees the daily bell schedule
- Assists teachers and students with general classroom behavior and student disciplinary issues.
- Issues parking permits and keeps all vehicle records
- Assists other schools when Jesuit students are involved in disciplinary situations
- Establishes and supervises the accountability structures for the school, which includes detention (JUG and Saturday JUG) programs.
- Makes locker assignments each year and procures maintenance and repairs on lockers
- Keeps lost and found items
- Is the school contact with law enforcement agencies
- Works closely with the Principal and other administrators in publishing the Student-Parent Handbook
- Counsels students in resolving personal, academic, and behavioral problems
- Organizes, assigns and publishes a schedule of Campus Supervision prefecting assignments for daily lunch and break times
- In partnership with the Director of Campus Safety, in cases of emergency, initiates contact with the proper public emergency office.
- Maintains records on all theft and/or injury reports on campus
- Supervises the Administrative Assistant to the Dean’s Office
- Is responsible for preparation and oversight of budgets as assigned by the Principal
Qualifications
- Prior leadership experience in a school setting is required. A college degree is required with the attainment of a master’s degree preferred. Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality, have strong multi-tasking ability, and be a self-starter.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for long periods of time; to perform daily activities from a desk; to operate a computer and various office equipment. Occasional lifting and transporting of boxes up to 20 lbs.
- The individual in this position is required to work occasional predetermined evening and weekend special events.
