Life and spirit on campus
“Whatever you are doing, that which makes you feel the most alive… that is where God is.” — St. Ignatius of Loyola
These words from St. Ignatius, founder of the Society of Jesus, speak directly to the heart of Ignatian spirituality: finding God in all things, especially in the moments that stir our deepest passions and purpose.
Beginning Monday, two special themed weeks will come together to fill our campus with life and spirit —Spirit Week and National Suicide Prevention Week.
Our Jesuit Student Council and TeamCARE Club (along with our Counseling and Wellness staff) have scheduled a mix of informational events and spirited activities. We encourage families to engage in dialogue with their students about the themes and topics they encounter throughout the week and to participate in the daily spirited activities.
Please read below for more on all the happenings – including a special invitation for parents to attend and hear our guest speakers at the Schoolwide suicide prevention assembly during the day with your son or the evening presentation at 6 pm Tuesday, September 9. A suicide-attempt survivor and the man who helped him will share the story that has changed both their lives, which is now focused on the power of trust, communication, and working together.
