To our Jesuit High School community

It is with deep sadness that I share with you the tragic news of the death of Jesuit senior Maclennan Enslow. Mac died in a car accident on the evening of July 24, 2024. Many of you may have already heard this news; however, it is with the family’s blessing that we now share it with our greater Jesuit High School community. We have been in contact with the Enslow family and many of Mac’s friends, who are understandably shocked and saddened by this tragedy. 

Death can be difficult for all to understand, especially when it is sudden. You may feel shock, sadness, or confusion. This is compounded by the fact that summer break has all of us in different places. Going through terrible moments like this are made a bit more manageable when we find ways to grieve together, to take good care of ourselves, and to be mindful of each other.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., in the Father Joseph F. Barry, S.J. Gymnasium on the Jesuit High School Sacramento campus. 

Additionally, Campus Ministry will lead a small gathering following the Senior Class orientation next week. Information on that will be sent directly to the students.

Losing a Jesuit brother will undoubtedly impact the larger Jesuit community, especially the senior class. Once school resumes, our counselors will be readily available. You may also visit our website’s counseling and wellness area, which holds a host of resources to help you and our community.
