The JV Reds hosted Cosumnes Oaks on Friday for a rematch of a competitive (3-2) game earlier in the season. This game was played on a muddy (and smaller) Lower Field as the Upper Field was unplayable. The Wolfpack came out strong and benefitted from a handball called in the penalty area, bringing the score 1-0 only 7 minutes into the game. After a couple near-goals by the Reds, Alexander Maguire had a powerful volley off a keeper punch and tied it up 1-1 at the 14th minute. Five minutes later, Maguire found Jordan Anyimi for a goal, taking the lead. Michael Roush had a long shot soon thereafter and the subsequent keeper-bobble was put away by Diego Perez, 3-1. After some hard work and another shot by Maguire, Anyimi headed in his deflected shot.  It was 4-1 Reds at the halftime whistle. The Wolfpack wasn’t done, as they put one away in the 50th minute. In the 65th minute, Aaron Chou had a highlight-reel worthy bomb from outside the box. Unfortunately, the Reds let their guard down and Cosumnes Oaks scored on the subsequent kickoff. With only ten minutes to go, Chou tapped in a blocked shot bringing the score 6-3.   As the chippy play ensued, the Marauders were able to score one more when Maguire capitalized on a free-kick foul and found Anyimi on the run and he got his hat trick, bringing the score 7-3.
