On March 29, 2025, the Jesuit High School Sacramento varsity baseball team played the Christian Brothers Falcons at home, in the Baseball-Albie Swingin’ for Life Games, where all ticket sales would go to the Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation. The Marauders would win the rivalry game with a score of 5-2.

Pitcher Aiden McKinnon ’25 started the game with a strong showing, giving up zero runs in the first inning. Sammy would also start off strong, hitting a homerun in the first at-bat for the Marauders. Then, a series of hits and runs from first baseman Cade Colombara ’25 and catcher Javier Ramirez ’25 gave the Marauders a 3-0 lead.

Neither team could score again until the third when Christian Brothers put points on the board with a two-run third inning, bringing the Falcons to within just one run of the Marauders.

Aiden extended the lead in the bottom of the third inning with his first homerun of the season. The Marauders followed it up with another run, giving Jesuit a comfortable three-run lead going into the back half of the game.

Throughout the rest of the game, neither team would score again, with the highlights being Jesuit’s lights out pitching performance. The Marauders used 4 different pitchers, who combined to strike out 8 batters and allow only 3 hits and 2 runs, with 0 runs allowed in the last 4 innings.

Sammy and Aiden were two standout players on offense, with Sammy going 2 for 3 at bat with a homerun and 2 RBI. Aiden was 1 for 3 with a sac fly and a homerun, driving in two runs.

With this win, the Jesuit Marauders improved to 10-1 overall and 5-1 in league play. Since then, the team has dropped 5 of their last 7 games, losing to Davis, Rocklin, Whitney, and De La Salle, dropping to a 12-6 overall and 7-5 in league play. The Marauders look to bounce back at the All Faiths Classic, which runs from Monday, April 14, to Thursday, April 17.
