On Saturday, Jan. 24, Jesuit High School Sacramento will be hosting its third annual Semi-Formal Winter Ball. The event, themed around the northern lights, will be held from 7 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. in the Father Barry Gymnasium.

School dances are a time for students to get together and spend time with each other in a fun, relaxed environment. Student Body President Emmett Gustorf ’26 believes that the social aspects are what make the dance truly memorable.

[I think that] the build up to the actual dance is the most memorable for me,” Emmett said. “It’s a good way to hang out with your friends, meet some new people, just do something to get involved on campus.”

The student council has worked hard in order to ensure this year’s ball is more exciting than the past. Although the Winter Ball is a relatively new dance, both Emmett and Luca McGlynn ’26 hope that this dance’s new additions can truly set it apart from previous years.

“The theme is Northern Lights,” Luca said. “And in the past years, we haven’t really had a theme for [the] Winter Ball. So this year, we want to make it more Northern lights focused, kind of that type of lighting, stars and stuff like that.”

Student tickets are currently on sale, and can be found here. Don’t waste this special opportunity, as this year’s dance is sure to be one to remember.
