Jesuit Cross Country finishes the season strong at nationals

Jesuit High School Sacramento’s cross country team finished their season on the biggest stage of the year, as they sent seven of their best runners to Nike Cross Country Nationals (NXN). The event was held in Glendoveer Golf, Portland, and brought the best schools across the nation to the most competitive 5k race in the country.

Jesuit scored 336 points, putting them in 14th place overall in a meet stacked up with the best talent in the country. Kyle Jakary ’26 led the way for the Marauders placing 72nd overall with a time of 16:10.1. Kyle’s performance set a strong and steady tone for the rest of the team to follow. Isaac Abbot ’26 followed just a few steps behind for 79th overall, clocking in at 16:13.6.

Coming in behind Kyle and Isaac was Connor Bilodeau ’27, who crossed the mark in 103rd place with a 16:27.7 pace, and a fellow underclassmen, Lucas Alberts ’27, placed 145th, running a 16:50.6. Drake Hoferer ’26 placed 147th, with a 16:51.5 pace. Finishing for the group was Ryan Tait ’27, placing 174th with a 17:16.9 time.

Beyond the placements and results, NXN offered the team a chance to embrace the atmosphere of the highest-intensity meet possible. It was a fast paced and relentless environment which pushed the runners past their limits.

Jesuit’s season showcased their ability to be consistently successful all season. Beginning from preseason to nationals, the Marauders were simply relentless. The season overall has been another success for the program, and will continue to fuel them for their next season.
