Jesuit selects Valedictorian and Salutatorian
With graduation quickly approaching, Jesuit High School Sacramento has selected its valedictorian and salutatorian. The valedictorian of the class of 2026 is Harry O’Hagin ’26 and the salutatorian is The Plank’s own Milo Moggan ’26.
Nominated by his peers and Jesuit faculty for his exemplary academics and extracurriculars, Harry’s hard work has not gone unnoticed.
“The joy lies less in the award itself but more about how my peers and the faculty have recognized me to be an exemplary student,” Harry said.
One of Harry’s favorite leadership roles was in Jesuit’s award-winning Rovotics program.
“I’ve had a lot of fun moments in robotics,” Harry said. “During the competitions, we’ve done very well and it’s always great to celebrate our hard work with the team.”
Milo has many memories here at Jesuit, having taken on a remarkable number of positions across campus.
“I found myself a much bigger part of Jesuit in service at Campus Ministry, as team manager, or at Plank, in drama, for star crew, and honestly, most importantly, just as a friend to a lot of my peers, and especially the faculty and staff,” Milo said.
The common thread between all of Milo’s experiences at Jesuit was the relationships he formed.
“[The] best part about all of those [experiences] was definitely the relationship that I had with people,” Milo said.
After his four years, Harry feels that the most valuable lesson to impart on current students is to appreciate Jesuit’s educational opportunities.
“Listen in class. The teachers at Jesuit are invaluable to having a great education, so prioritizing your attention towards them is necessary for academic success,” Harry said.
As the senior class heads to graduation on May 23, the class of 2026 will be sent off with speeches by both Milo and Harry. Both of these students’ dedication to their studies has been outstanding. Their pride in their work and their ability to problem solve is admired by peers and teachers alike.
