One of the most anticipated high school events is just around the corner. Jesuit High School Sacramento’s 2023 Junior Prom will take place on Saturday, April 29 at 7 p.m.

Junior Prom is an opportunity for Jesuit students to celebrate the hard work they’ve put in throughout the academic year, and to spend time with their friends and relax.

With the end of the year just around the corner, Student Activities Director Mr. Peter Ferrari hopes Juniors will be able to celebrate a diligent and hardworking year.

“Junior Prom is kinda just a traditional end of the year celebration, especially for juniors,” Mr. Ferrari said. “This is just a celebration for the juniors for the hard work they’ve put in throughout the year.”

This year’s Junior Prom is going to be hosted at Del Paso Country Club. The Club offers a large venue that Jonah Reynolds ’24, who will be attending the dance, believes will be the perfect location for the event.

“It’s a really nice facility; part of the reason we’re doing it at a country club is they also have the accommodations to have dinner there,” Jonah said. “It’s going to be [in] their main atrium space. It’s just a good place to have it. It works out well.”

To ensure that students have the best time at Junior Prom, Mr. Ferrari urges students to show up around 7 p.m.

“I recommend that students get there on time. It starts at 7 [p.m.],” Mr. Ferrari said. “[However,] students are welcome to arrive any time between 7 and 8 p.m.”

Junior Prom is going to be filled with lots of things students can do. Students can socialize with each other and dance.

“There’s dinner, drinks; it’s just going to be open,” Jonah said. “The first half is socialization, food, just relaxing, talking, and having fun. The next part, they’ll take away the food and it’ll become the dance.”

Mr. Ferrari emphasizes that the junior year experience is almost over and that juniors shouldn’t let their remaining time go to waste.

“Don’t sit and let your high school experience pass you by,” Mr. Ferrari said. “This is just a part of your high school experience that we hope will be memorable, we hope it’ll be fun. We hope you can come and enjoy time with your friends, classmates… so make the most of it.”
