Administrative Assistant for the Office of Service and Justice and Campus Ministry Ms. Tina Bernardi has been a part of the Jesuit High School Sacramento community for many years now, despite only joining as an employee this summer. Her experience with the Jesuit community has helped her excel at her job right away.

“She’s had her boys go through Jesuit High School [and] Mr. Bernardi [has been] working here for many years,” said Principal Dr. Michael Wood ’99. “She understands this place better than most folks, especially in their first days and weeks on the job.”

In addition to family ties, Ms. Bernardi came to Jesuit because of a commitment to its mission of serving others.

“We are a scouting family and active in our church, so I love that Jesuit gives back to those in the community that need a little extra care,” Ms. Bernardi said. “It is important to be active in my faith and [give] back when we are able.”

Ms. Bernardi’s dedication to Jesuit’s mission has inspired her to become an active member of the school, even before starting work in August.

“I was honored to participate in my first immersion this summer,” Ms. Bernardi said. “Mr. Bernardi and I led seven guys on the Del Norte Immersion in Crescent City. I am still getting my feet wet so to speak, but I plan on jumping into anything I can.”

Her participation in the community has already made Ms. Bernardi a perfect fit for the Service and Justice Program, led by Director of Service and Justice Ms. Sara Brabec.

“Ms. Bernardi is generous, responsive, and flexible,” Ms. Brabec said. “She’s also just a kind and funny colleague to work alongside. It feels like she’s always been here – the transition has been seamless.”

Ms. Bernardi is glad to be a part of the Jesuit community and looks forward to continuing her work on campus.

“I am excited for this new journey,” Ms. Bernardi said. “I was with my last employer for over 25 years, so this is an adjustment. [There’s] so much positive energy and excitement on campus.”

Transitioning to the educational world after working in retail for 25 years doesn’t always go smoothly for some, but because of her willingness to go all in, Ms. Bernardi has made herself a seamless addition to our community.
